ABOUT ME

Despite being confident and care-free growing up, during my my teenage years, anorexia nervosa brought my entire world crashing down in just a matter of months.

After plenty of initial reluctance, I embraced therapy. I embraced the notion that anorexia had developed as a form of control; the idea that I needed a treatment team to tell me what and when to eat; the suggestion that I needed to pinpoint the 'root cause' before starting recovery; the concept that I would be managing the illness forever.

I did everything I was 'supposed' to do in therapy, and when that didn't work, I embraced the idea that I was failing therapy, rather than the truth: binary therapeutic moulds were failing me.

A few years later (after not much progress) and after hearing the suggestions that I'd be "managing the illness forever..." from a close family friend,  I finally felt committed to make the radical changes necessary.

So, that's what did. I set out to disprove all of the misconceptions I had so wholly previously embraced.

After fully overcoming Anorexia, the complicated matrix of obsessions and the habitual eating disorder behaviours that came with it, I decided to train in the therapies that did help me recover. My lived experience of the illness, alongside my Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner qualifications gives me the opportunity to support you in your healing journey using a varied toolbox of therapies and methodologies. I know all to well that Eating Disorders are not well supported by mainstream medicine and so, I endeavour to offer an alternative and individually tailored support pathway for both the sufferer and their loved ones.
